Kingston Industrial Garage (KIG) has the distinction of being Jamaica’s oldest automotive dealership and the oldest Ford dealership outside of the United States. The company was founded by the Henriques brothers early in the 20th Century and opened its doors in downtown Kingston on 15 January 1908 with the Ford Model-T car as its first offering. Over the years KIG gained recognition as one of the top sellers worldwide of the Ford brand especially through the 1960’s and the 1970’s. The Ford brand remains a top selling brand in Jamaica today and offers an extensive range of SUVs and Jamaica’s best-selling popular light commercial pick-up – the Ranger.
KIG is also the proud authorised dealer of Subaru, which has its origins in the aircraft industry, and a worldwide following of dedicated fans, thanks to its award-winning models based on a platform of safety, innovation and performance on-road, off-road and on the race track. Subaru lovers will be very familiar with the company’s dedication to developing and evolving its trademark Subaru BOXER engine and its Symmetrical All Wheel Drive (AWD) system. There is no compromise when it comes to safety in this unquestioningly superior Japanese brand.
KIG is also home to Jeep – the iconic & legendary 4×4 sport utility vehicles celebrating over 70 years as with Jeep you can go anywhere, do anything.
The KIG tagline is ‘We Keep You Driving’ and so we round out our vehicle dynamics with the Yamaha brand, for recreational motorcycle and ATV enthusiasts, and for those who need to ensure that manoeuvring through traffic is reliably accomplished every business day, by bike bearers, couriers and delivery personnel.
